What do fridge odour eliminators do?

Everybody wants their fridge to be clean and fresh, after all you don’t want the strong and unpleasant scents of a stinky fridge putting you off your food as soon as you open the fridge door. Often storing strong foods such as blue cheese in the fridge without placing them in air tight storage containers can cause unwanted fridge smells. Your fridge may also start to smell if food or liquids are not properly cleaned up. To remove fridge odours you should start by cleaning all the internal fridge surfaces and then place a fridge deodoriser inside.

Fridge deodorisers neutralise the strong and unpleasant odours that form inside the fridge. They often contain either an active carbon or gel formula that absorbs odours to prevent cross contamination of food flavours. Fridge odour absorbers do not alter the taste of food and they will typically be effective against a smelly fridge for between 3 and 5 months. Some brands of fridge odour remover are fragranced to freshen the fridge, for example some Wpro fridge deodorisers have a lemon scent.
