Before you can start your fridge freezer repair or purchase a fridge freezer spare part, you need to know what is causing the fault and how to fix it. Our guide to common faults is the place to start:

The fridge light has stopped working
Without a working lamp your refrigerator can become very dark and difficult to use. Fortunately, this repair is not too difficult. The most obvious fault with fridge lighting is a blown bulb. Appliance lamps are designed to last longer than standard lighting because they are not left running for extended periods. When the filament in the fridge bulb does burn out the light will fail. If you suspect your light bulb has burned out then it needs to be replace.

The refrigerator has become very noisy
There are a number of components within the refrigerator that could be causing the noise. Depending on your model these include the compressor, condenser fan motor and the defrost timer. In most cases the cause of the problem is likely to be a faulty part that will need to be replaced. However if it is the condenser fan that is making the noise, it may be due to a build-up of lint or other debris on the fan blades and cleaning the unit may suffice.
