Video Transcript: How to Replace the Belt on an Indesit or Hotpoint Vented Dryer

Welcome to BuySpares, in this video we're going to show you how to replace a belt in the Indesit or Hotpoint vented dryer.

Important: before replacing a part in any electrical appliance, you must ensure that the appliance is first unplugged from the mains.

If your dryer is not moving the clothing in the drum it is likely the belt is broken and you’ll need to replace it.

Remove the lid and then remove the kick plate and the right side panel.

Remove the screws on the back edge of the left panel, this will allow you to move the front away from the drum mounting.

Drop the new belt through the gap, lift it over the drum before fitting back onto the front supports.

Refit the left side panel and screw it into place.

Use a lever or screwdriver to stretch the new belt onto the motor.

Make sure the front panel is upright, the drum is in the correct position and gently turn the drum to ensure the belt remains in position.

Refit the side panel, kick plate and top and retest the machine.
