Video Transcript: Universal Oven Door Seal

Welcome to BuySpares. In this video we will show you how to use a universal seal to replace the door seals in this oven

IMPORTANT: BEFORE REPLACING A PART IN ANY ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS FIRST UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS

We recommend, where possible, using genuine replacement parts but if that isn't possible, then a Universal seal may be suitable to replace a rubber tight seal like this.

It can't be used to replace seals made of any other material or woven cloth.

The two main types of universal seals are ones with square corners and ones with rounded corners.

Choose the right corners and your old seal must have one hook per corner, which fits into the corresponding hole on the oven.

If your seal is different to this you wont be able to use a universal seal.

We will show you how to replace this four sided round corner seal in the main oven.

Un-clip the old seal by unhooking it from the oven. Measure the distance between the fixing holes and make a note of them.

Using the instructions, cut your seal shorter to match your measurements as it needs to stretch into place to remain tort.

Cut the ends to ensure when the hook is inserted the ends fit together flush.

Carefully insert the hook making sure they face the right way, because once you insert them they wont come out.

Push firmly together until there is no gap, then refit to the oven.
