Video Transcript: How to Replace Tumble Dryer Jockey Wheels on a Hoover

Welcome to BuySpares, in this video we will show you how to replace jockey wheels in a Hoover tumble dryer.

Important: before replacing a part in any electrical appliance, you must ensure that the appliance is first unplugged from the mains.

If your machine is making a squealing noise as the drum rotates, the problem is likely to be due to worn jockey wheels and you may need to replace them.

Remove the cabinet top and the control panel.

Next remove the door seal, the door, the lower front cover, and the front panel.

Remove the drum support from the front of the machine.

Now remove the fan grill, the fan ring, the fan and the fan cover.

Reach in and lift the belt off the tensioning pulleys, and work the belt off the motor shaft.

Remove the heater at the back, this will enable you to access and remove the drum bearing plate screws.

Use the belt to lift the drum out through the cabinet front.

Remove and replace the tension pulleys, lift the drum back and re-screw the bearing plate and the heater.

Refit the heater cover, refit the front support and refit the belt on to the pulleys.

Slowly rotate the drum to help the belt into position, and then refit the fan cover, the fan and the fan ring. Fit the fan grill, then the front panel.

Refit the door seal, the door, the lower cover, then the control panel.

Finally refit the cabinet top before testing the appliance.
