Welcome to Buyspares. This video will show you how to replace the lock on a washing machine door.

IMPORTANT: BEFORE REPLACING A PART IN ANY ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS FIRST UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS.

To replace the lock on a washing machine you first need to remove the door.

First undo these two screws that hold the door in place.

Remove the clamp band that holds the door seal in place and peal back the door seal to access the back of the doors hinge.

Then pressing on the back at the plate you can lift the door up and off.

Now you have taken the door off place it on a flat surface so you can undo all the screws around the edge.

Once you have undone the screws lift the bowl away separating the two sections of the door.

To remove the handle you need to take out these two retaining pins that lift the handle off and replace it with a new one.

Place the handle back on over the lock like this and fit the two sections of the door back together and replace all the screws.

Fit the door back onto the washing machine by slotting the hinge back on and replacing the screws and replace the door seal and clamp band and you're ready to go.
