Video Transcript: How to Replace an Electric Cooker Terminal Block

Welcome to BuySpares, This video will show how to change the terminal block on an electric cooker.

IMPORTANT: BEFORE REPLACING A PART IN ANY ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS FIRST UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS

A cooker or oven will often have its electrical supply enter at the back at the terminal connector block here.

When installed if any of the connectors are not tightened correctly they can get hot and burn causing damage requiring replacement.

When replacing take out any screw or unhook the cover and remove the cable clamp.

Take a photo of the connections then unscrew and remove them.

Remove this screw and slide the assembly to allow it to disconnect from the panel.

Take another photo for reference before transferring the connections over to the new terminal block one at a time.

When refitting line up the assembly and push it on to the back panel, then slide it up to align the fixing hole and screw in.

Refit the three supply wires using your photo for reference.

Ensure any bridging links are in the correct position and all screws are tightened.

Refit the cable clamp and then the cover. Finally turn on the supply and retest your appliance.
