Video Transcript: How to Replace a Tumble Dryer Heater (Hotpoint or Indesit)

Welcome to BuySpares, in this video we'll be showing you how to change the heater in a Hotpoint tumble dryer.

Important: before replacing a part in any electrical appliance, you must ensure that the appliance is first unplugged from the mains.

If your dryer is turning the drum, but there is no heat you may have a faulty heater and need to replace it.

Remove the top panel, and the right side panel to access the heater connections.

Disconnect this plug that supplies the heater and ensure it is free to be removed through the back panel.

Then remove the screws from around the heater cover, lift off the cover and heater carefully, drawing the wires and connector through the back, release the wire clip, unscrew and remove the heater, place the new heater assembly in the cover and screw in position.

Pass the connector and wires through the back and screw the cover in place, taking care not to trap any wires.

Reconnect the plug and ensure the wires are correctly positioned, refit the side and top panels, before testing the machine.
