Video Transcript: How to Fix an Oven Grill Element

Welcome to BuySpares, in this video we will show you how to change the grill element in a cooker or oven.

IMPORTANT: BEFORE REPLACING A PART IN ANY ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS FIRST UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS

At BuySpares we sell a wide range of original elements for most cookers.

However if yours is not available or you would like more economic replacement we also have a wide range of compatible elements that are often the same quality as the original, but at a more attractive price.

First remove the shelves and if possible the door from the oven.

Many doors can be removed by pulling up these latches on the hinge then just lift the door up and it should just come away.

With the door removed release the element's fixing screws. If none are visible then you will have to remove the back panel to remove any mounting screws that fix the element to the oven.

Once removed change the wires to the new element and fit into position.

After reassembling if your cooker has a clock remember that the main oven might not work until this has been reset.
