IMPORTANT: BEFORE REPLACING A PART IN ANY ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS FIRST UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS.
To do this you'll need a Spanners Sockets Torx 20 screwdriver.
After removing the motor from the washing machine, disconnect the wire from the carbon brush housing and remove the screw to release the carbon brush. The carbon brush can now be lifted out.
The new carbon brush should be depressed inwards in order to fit it back onto the motor.
Replace the screw, making sure that it's fixed securely into place.
Reconnect the wire to the carbon brush, and your motor is ready to go back into the machine.
Please bear in mind that the method of changing a carbon brush may vary according to your brand of washing machine.
