Video Transcript: How to Replace The Element in a Fan Oven Using a Universal Part

    Welcome to BuySpares.

In this video we will be showing you how to replace an oven fan element with a universal part.

IMPORTANT: BEFORE REPLACING A PART IN ANY ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS FIRST UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS.

If your fan oven is not heating when using it on the fan setting you may have a faulty fan element and need to replace it.

BuySpares can supply the original parts for many appliances. However, if these are not available or if you would like a more economical alternative to an expensive original, we also stock a wide range of alternative parts.

These are usually made to the same quality as the original part and there are a number of different types of universal elements so you should check the dimensions carefully to identify the correct part, especially as sometimes they may require a little modification to fit correctly.

Remove the door and the element cover by taking out the screws. Undo the element fixings either from the front or back as required, carefully lift the element away and disconnect the wires and transfer these to the new element.

Refit the element and its cover.

Refit the door, turn on and if fitted reset the timer to manual before retrying the repair.

To prevent the wires slipping through the back when the element is disconnected attach clothes pegs to the wires
