Video Transcript: How to Change a Motor Capacitor in a Beko Tumble Dryer

Welcome to BuySpares, in this video you will be shown how to replace the motor capacitor in a Beko tumble dryer.

Important: before replacing a part in any electrical appliance, you must ensure that the appliance is first unplugged from the mains.

To remove the motor capacitor, take the top off the appliance by undoing these screws.

Then disconnect the wires from the filter at the back, during this stage take a photo if required to remind you later.

Next remove the inspection cover and vent by removing these screws.

Ease the belt off the motor spindle then remove the screws around the back panel.

Use the belt to lift the drum and disconnect the heater plug, before removing it completely from the cabinet. You can now access the motor capacitor to replace it. To replace the capacitor transfer the wires onto the new one.

Lift the drum back into position using the belt and reconnect the heater plug, before refitting the screws around the back panel. Then using a half inch socket extension refit the belt onto the motor spindle.

Check the drum turns freely by carefully rotating the drum to ensure the belt runs on safely and settles in position on the drum.

Refit the vent cover and screw into place.
