Bought a pattern one for a quarter of the price and it lasted 2 days. The original [...] one lasted 19 years so if this lasts that long I will be very happy. It's still going strong after 3 weeks, so fingers crossed.

The replacement part I received was identical to the original, I didn't think I would be able to get one for a seventeen year old machine so I am more than happy.
Removal of the broken part and fitting the new one is easy if you take your time and follow logical steps.
First, take notice of how the original parts are assembled before taking out the retaining screws. (Pay attention to the direction which the latch faces, and position of the torsion spring behind it.)
Before fitting to the door, the handle has to be fitted to the actuating lever, you will notice that there are two little stirts which face each other when the handle and lever are snapped together. Next fit the small compression spring between them. The lever assembly can then be slid into the door aperture so that the latch,and pivot bar can be positioned from the other side. Finally fit the two screws through the holes in the torsion spring, slide it behind the latch and screw into position.
Disclaimer: I am not a professional, but this is how I fitted mine and it works good as new.
