L G appliance Error Codes

Welcome to the Buyspares L G Fault Codes Centre.

Many manufacturers have designed their appliances to display fault codes in the event of a problem.

Whilst these codes are at times a valuable tool to help diagnose the problem they are not always a direct answer to the problem.

Take an example of a code for “drain problem” with a washing machine. This can occur if the module has failed, or the pipe is blocked by a sock for example. It could be as a result of the pump has burnt out or more likely due to something blocking the pump like a hair grip or coin.

Therefore when a machine shows a fault code always take the time to list what the machine can and can't do as this may be more useful than just a code.

If a code only occurs occasionally it may be not a fault with the machine but for example a “balance error” code may be due to incorrect loading of the machine.

However some errors may only show on certain cycle for example a “heating error” on washing may not show on a low temperature cycle.

It may be that you find your machine having drained and not completed the cycle showing an error code, if this is the case and the code is not known or “vague” then try starting a short cycle empty on a high temperature. Then by keeping an eye on the machine you will be able to check if it fills, starts washing, heats (after 15 minutes or so), empty' s and then spins. If there is a fault then one of these steps may not complete and the programme may stop or finish prematurely.

For example if the machine fills washes heats but struggles to empty (water still in after several minutes draining). It can be seen that the pump is trying to drain and the problem is likely to be an obstruction or partial blockage (typically a sock or debris in the filter).

This information will help you identify what area to investigate first.

CL: Child Lock error. The Controls have been locked to prevent todlers from changing the program.

Turn of the child lock as per the instruction book.

UE: Unbalance error. The machine is refusing to spin as the wash load is out of balance.

Look for heavy items in the load and remove them, to spin heavy items see our balanced loads article.

SE: Motor error. or possible module fault.

Try replaceing the motor 1st but could be pcb. consider having an engineer repair (repaircare).

CE: Current error. Short circuit to motor or PCB.

Consider having an engineer repair (repaircare).

L G Tumble Drier error codes.

DE: Door Error. The machine is refusing to start as it thinks the door is open. Check the door lock and catch.

EHE: high temperature and high humidity of air within a

dryer if stopping the dryer in process.

Try to use the dryer again after ventilating air by taking drying all objects and opening the door for more than an hour.

L G Fridge and Freezer Error Codes

.

FF: Error Code. This indicates a problem with the Freezer Fan rotateing.

If the fan has been "whirring" for some time and has now stopped it may be due to ice build up catching the blades.
Try Defrosting by switching of for 48 hours with the door open on the freezer. if this cures the fault but problem returns it may be due to a defrost problem.

FS: Error Code. Freezer Sensor Problem

Try powering off and on to see if problem clears. if continuose you may need to replace sensor.

RS: Error Code. Fridger Sensor Problem

Try powering off and on to see if problem clears. if continuose you may need to replace sensor.

DS: Error Code. Defrost Sensor Problem

Try powering off and on to see if problem clears. if continuose you may need to replace sensor.

DH: Error Code. Defrost Heater Problem

Try powering off and on to see if problem clears. if continuose you may need to replace sensor.

CF: Error Code. Cooling Fan Problem

Try powering off and on to see if problem clears. if continuose you may need to replace the cooling fan near the compresor at the back.

CO: Error Code. Communication Problem

This is due to the control boards not "talking" to each other. Try powering off and on to see if problem clears. if continuose you may need to replace the Boards.
