Video Transcript: How to Replace the Handle on a Cooker (Hotpoint/Indesit)

Welcome to BuySpares. In this video we'll be showing you how to replace the oven door handle on this Indesit cooker.

IMPORTANT: BEFORE REPLACING A PART IN ANY ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS FIRST UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS

If you have a loose or damaged handle on your cooker it needs to be repaired.

Start by opening the door and locking the hinges by lifting these clips. This will allow you to close and lift off the door.

Then place it onto a flat soft surface and remove the four screws from the bottom edge and the two screws at the top.

Lift the inner door frame and hinges off the outer door.

You can then remove the fixing screws and lift off the old handle.

When fitting a new handle line it up so you can see the screw holes and refit the screws.

Place the inner door skin and hinges on to the outer door then refit the six screws.

Lower the door carefully back into position and open the door, then release the clips on the lock.

Close the door and check it seals correctly.
