Video Transcript: How to Replace the Drive Belt on a Flymo Compact 300 Lawnmower
IMPORTANT: BEFORE REPLACING A PART IN ANY ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS FIRST UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS.
If the motor on your Flymo lawnmower is running, but the blade isn't turning it may be because the belt has snapped. In this video I'm going to show you how to replace a lawnmower belt.
Obviously make sure your lawnmower is unplugged before you start to work on it.
Start by removing the blade and the impeller using the dedicated Flymo spanner for this. Then remove these four screws and this one here using a Torx head screwdriver.
Now flip the lawnmower over and remove the grass collection basket. These three screws need to be removed to get to the belt. For these screws you need a Philips head screwdriver.
Once the screws are out you can lift off the motor cover, and see the motor here. Lift out the unit and you'll see the belt underneath.
If the old belt is still on there and you need to remove it, loosen it first by undoing these screws here. Once it is slack enough you can simply take it off and replace it with the new lawnmower belt.
To tighten the belt back up, push against the motor and tighten the screws back up. Now you can replace the motor unit put the lawnmower back together again.
