Video Transcript: How to Replace a Zanussi Tumble Dryer Belt

Welcome to BuySpares. In this video we will show how to change a drive belt in a Zanussi tumble dryer.

Important: Before replacing a part in any electrical appliance, you must ensure that the appliance is first unplugged from the mains.

A broken drive belt will cause your machine to not move the clothes and not dry correctly, although your dryer may appear to be running, so you will need to replace it.

Start by removing the top panel. Remove the broken belt.

Then remove the side panel by undoing these screws. Remove the other side panel by taking out these screws and take off both side panels.

Take off the fan cover by removing this screw and prising here.

Remove the nut and washer from the spindle while holding the fan and then push the fan off.

    Remove the heater cover.

Take out the screws holding the back to the base. Carefully ease the drum away from the front.

Pass the belt over the drum lip and along the drum, then lift and refit the drum onto the drum support and refit the back screws.

    Refit the heater covers.

Release the tension spring on the motor, slip the new belt over the spindle and lift it onto the tension pulley.

Turn the motor to refit the belt. Then reconnect the tension spring.

Turn the drum to settle the belt, then refit the fan and its cover.

Refit the cabinet’s parts and run a test cycle if required.
