Video Transcript: How to Get your Dishwasher Cleaning Properly

Welcome to Buyspares, this video will show you how to get your dishwasher cleaning properly.

IMPORTANT: BEFORE REPLACING A PART IN ANY ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS FIRST UNPLUGGED FROM THE MAINS.

A dishwasher that is not cleaning properly is counterproductive because after it finished the dishes have to be cleaned by hand anyway.

To begin make sure your dishwasher is sufficiently topped up a dishwasher salt.

this is used to soften the water and allow the detergent work effectively.

The salt is topped up in this water softener compartment here.Unscrew the top and fill it all the way to the top.If any salt spills out just wipe it away.

You should only use dishwashing salt and not table salt in the dishwasher otherwise it can damage the appliance.

There is a range of detergent products available.Ranging from basic detergents to all in one products that also containing rinse aid and salt.

If you use an all in one and live in a hard water area it's a good idea to add salt anyway to keep the water really soft.

For detergents without rinse aid you you will need to add this separately.

Rinse aid is used to help the water run off the glassware and crockery stopping unsightly streaks and water marks appearing.

The rinse aid is poured into this compartment and the amount rinse aid used in a cycle can be adjusted

    with the is dial.

If water marks are appearing not enough rinse aid is being used.turn the dial up.

However if glasses are developing a milky colour or blue film, then to much rinse aid is being used and the dial can be turned down.Next check the filter assembly.

The filter is used to stop large food and debris from getting into the pipe and causing a blockade.or from recirculating around the machine.

The filter and filter mesh may have food trapped in it so wash it out under a tap to clear the blockages check the mesh for any tears if there are any then it can be easily replaced.

You should also check the cutlery basket for any cracks or gaps where the cutlery could fall through and block the bottom spray arm and stop it turning. which will make the dishwasher less effective.

Similarly make sure that when loading the dishwasher nothing on the bottom rack is sticking up stopping the spray arm from turning.

Most dishwashers can have their top rack raised giving extra clearance for larger items in the bottom rack. It's common for part in dishwashers to degrade over time.through limescale.

The issue can be resolved spares limescale and detergent remover.

Once a month just empty a sachet into a empty dishwasher and place it onto a hot cycle.

For badly affected area just dissolve a sachet into a spray bottle of warm water and apply the solution to those areas around the machine.

Before pouring the rest of the solution into the dishwasher and put it onto a hot wash cycle.
