      How does the brushbars work?
Vacuum cleaners designed for carpeted floors typically feature a revolving brushbar. Brushbars revolve at up to 6,500 RPM and are driven by a belt attached to the suction motor. The main purpose of the brushbar is to loosen dirt from the carpet fibres and move it upward to where the suction motor can pull it into the vacuum cleaner.

When should you replace the brushbar?
Since worn bristles will not effectively clean your carpets, you should replace the brushbar when the bristles are worn. It's easy to tell when the bristles are worn out as they feel soft instead of stiff, and they may also have 'split ends'.

If your vacuum cleaner is very noisy, then the bearings in the brushbar may be defective or the endcaps may be clogged with hairs and carpet fibres. Use this replacement brushbar if the bristles on your existing bar are showing signs of wear.
