If the handle on your washing machine is loose and no longer opens the door, it may be broken and need replacing. Here is how to fix a broken handle.
Video Transcript: Replacing a Zanussi Door handle
Welcome to BuySpares.
In this video we show you how to replace a door handle on a Zanussi washing machine.
Important: before replacing a part in any electrical appliance you must ensure that the appliance is first disconnected from the mains.

With the door open remove the hinge by undoing these two screws.
Place the washing machine on a flat surface and remove these screws.
Prise apart the inner and outer door frame using a flat bladed screwdriver.
Lift off the bowl and inner door, and remove the handle latch and spring.
To reassemble, first push the axle pin in enough to hold the spring and insert the latch lever with its hook facing this way, then push the pin fully through.
Tilt the handle and refit into position.
Fit the other springs in this position.
Refit the rim onto the bowl and clip it together.
Check the handle operates correctly before refitting the screws.
Refit the door.
Checking it opens and closes, and carry out a test cycle.
