Video Transcript: How to Replace the Door Catch and Door Latch on an Indesit or Hotpoint Tumble Dryer

    Welcome to BuySpares.

This video shows you how to replace the door catch and door latch on an Indesit or Hotpoint tumble dryer.

Important: before replacing a part in any electrical appliance you must ensure that the appliance is first unplugged from the mains.

If the hook on your dryer door breaks and you cannot remove it from the door latch, you may need to replace both parts.

Remove the top by undoing these two screws then push it back.

Using a large screwdriver carefully push into the door lock and slide it towards the porthole to free one side.

Release the wiring from the cable clip, and then reach in, hold the latch body and twist to move it away from the drum to unhook from the front.

Lower back and engage the drum side of the lock onto the front panel before straightening up and sliding back into position.

Refit the lid and test the machine.
