Video Transcript: How to Replace a Tumble Dryer Motor Capacitor on a Creda, Hotpoint or Indesit Machine

Welcome to Buyspares, in this video we're going to be looking at motor capacitor problems in a Creda, Hotpoint or Indesit tumble dryer.

Important: before replacing a part in any electrical appliance, you must ensure that the appliance is first unplugged from the mains.

Failure of the motor capacitor can be a common problem with tumble dryers. As the machine ages the capacitor can fail, they can fail progressively causing slow start up when turning or stalling, or this could be by shorting causing a loud buzzing noise and no rotation.

Take the machine top off by removing these screws and sliding it back, and remove the right hand side panel to access the motor and capacitor.

Locate the capacitor and transfer the wires from the old capacitor before removing from its mount and refitting the new one, then just refit the panels and retry the machine.
